Knowledge is power.

 The famous phrase knowledge is power was initially coined by Sir Francis Bacon in 1597 which emphasizes the very strength which one gets being learned over ignorant or illiterate people.

The power of knowledge cannot be overemphasized keeping in view the  fast pace with which the existing world is changing. 

In today's world, this phrase rings truer than ever. Access to knowledge and information has never been easier, and it has leveled the playing field in many ways. With the internet at our fingertips, we can learn new skills, expand our perspectives, and stay up-to-date on current events.

The phrase "knowledge is power" is often associated with:

In short knowledge as a power tool is an established dogma throughout human history.  Those nations which had knowledge excelled those which remained ignorant. Islam as a religion put heavy emphasis on learning and knowledge as compared to other material attributes. 

That's why in,Quran Allah says whether those who know and those who don't are EQUAL?

No they can't be equal at any way.  Henceforth those nations which progressed in the comity of nations became distinguished on the basis of knowledge and knowledge only.
